I'm so sorry I haven't been keeping up with this. Keeping up with Kate is hard enough right now. Now that she's got the walking thing down, she's moved on to running and quickly bouncing herself off walls, chairs, people, and mostly dogs! My job has been to chase her around and make sure she doesn't do any irreparable damage. She did get her one year check up: talk about drama. The second she saw the scale she cried-I know how that is! She weighed 22 lbs and was 29.5 inches long. She's around the 75% in both. I'll make sure I upload more pictures and videos of the munchin in action soon. Hope everyone is doing well. Miss everyone. Love, Jill

Sorry this is all I had time to do. I'll be back later to add more pictures. Kate had a great birthday! Sorry about the blog. I promise to try to get some pictures up soon. Kate has learned to walk and now run! So I can't do anything but watch her! I'll get some video of that too!

I am so sorry for being so terrible about keeping this up to date. Unfortunately the real world has hit. Kev's working as always but back at school and I've hit the clinic again. So that doesn't leave much time. I really do apologize. I'll try to get some pictures of Christmas at home up soon but in the mean time her are some recent videos of Kate. She's really starting to show her true colors more and more everyday. She cracks us up on a daily basis. She's not saying a lot: "that", "mama", "dada", something that sounds like "go" but mainly she LOVES making sounds as you'll see. They are hysterical or we think they are. She loves her dogs and stuffed animals the most. She's taken about 7 steps or so on her own but still likes to hold one of our hands to walk. This girl's gonna be somethin else. She has a little attitude on her. She insists on doing things herself or at least has to be her idea (does this sound like her father!) Hope you enjoy the videos.

Well we got Kate's Santa pics back. They most definitely don't show the drama like the video. There's no way to capture the silent scream in a still photo. We're counting down the days until Christmas in Texas. Pray for patient (and healthy) people surrounding us on the plane! Not much new here other than Kate learning how to feed the dogs of her highchair. No longer need to give the child a bath. Hud's got it covered! I will video this soon. Love you all.

Poor Santa! Well, all I can say is that we tried to meet Santa. Kate thought he was pretty scary. What's the first Christmas without a crying kiddo picture with Santa? We have lots of them! Kate's still up to her usual tricks: playing peek-a-boo, pulling her books of the shelf, sucking on her lovie (the lamb she's holding smells terrible! Baby spit mixed with formula always makes for a nice lovie to carry around), crawling around like a mad woman, and lovin on her doggies. No walking yet. She stands alone well but is very interested in getting somewhere quickly and she knows how to do that. Walking would take a lot more time. Can't fault her for that. We're looking forward to coming to Texas for Christmas. Love you all.

Here's some footage of Kate swinging yesterday. She loves this! We just have to keep her from throwing herself backwards. She loves to be upside down. She just takes for granted that we always catch her when she does it. I hope you enjoy.This is a video of sweet Gavin sharing his toys with Kate a couple of weeks ago. If you look closely, you can actually see the stomach virus being passed around! Gavin is so cute, later in the video he's talking to Kevin. When Gavin says "pee pee" that means "yes please". A "pee" just means "please". I can only hope Kate is as sweet as her big cousin. Can't wait to see everyone Christmas.

Sorry again for the long departure in updating the website. As you all may know, Gran went to be with Jesus Sunday. There feels like there is an enormous hole in our heart but this was all on Gran's terms and that gives us extra peace. There were over 300 people at her funeral. She would have loved that party!! I'm so proud of her and her life and glad that so many people got to know this graceful wonderful woman. Thank you all for all your support and prayers.

Well, Gran would want a "Kate update". She's on a rampage these days. She is standing on her own for longer periods of time (20-30 seconds or so), and today she climbed the entire length of stairs twice! I got the second episode on tape. Hope you enjoy. Oh I almost forgot-we have two teeth!!!! Wow, we thought she was going to be the oldest toothless child.

I'll also try to upload some videos of Kate and Gavin and Kate riding Reb. Poor dog. Happy belated Thanksgiving.

I'm so sorry it's been so long since I updated this. We've had a rough couple of weeks. Last weekend was bitter sweet. All three of us went to Dallas to see Gran. Hopefully not for goodbye but at Gran's request she wanted us to "hurry up and come"!

For those of you who do not know. Gran has long battled her stomach for years. You would never know because she NEVER complains and like always carries on like a champ. About two months ago Gran underwent emergency surgery to fix an intestinal blockage that threatened her life. Like the unbelievable woman that she is, she was up in her chair putting on her "face" not but two weeks later. Unfortunately, however this surgery has proven to be too much for Gran's little body to overcome. She has made it all known to us that she is ready to "go Home".

Our heart breaks because it is absolutely inconceivable to think of life without Gran. She is our rock and everything to our family. I mourn for our family and for Kate. Kate's a lucky girl because every single wonderful aspect of Gran is embedded into my Mom; and Kate will know Gran through Nanna and all my sweet memories of Gran. Thank you Gran for being the wonderful, classy, strong, loyal, funny, graceful, smart, and faithful lady you are. I always felt a little closer to Jesus when I was with you. You set the bar and I know the only one that comes close is Mom. Thank you, thank you. There is no doubt, that Jesus is saying "Well done, well done. Good and faithful servant." I have been so blessed to have been in the presence of my Gran for 31 years. Thank you Jesus for Gran.

For those of you reading this, please pray for God's perfect timing and for my Mom and Aunt Martha.

Well, this week has been a busy one for Kate. She CLIMBED FOUR STAIRS, learned how to clap and swang on her first swing. Unfortunately, I only managed to get the clapping on tape. She is standing for longer periods of time on her own. She's up to a good 10 seconds or so (or until she's on her own and then she falls). This video is just of her in her playroom. One of her favorite things to do is pull all the books off the shelf. This is her favorite thing until she pulls one on her foot. Then that games over.
Here's the video of her clapping for the first time today. Sorry for the crazy Mom stuff but as you know you will absolutely look like the craziest person in the world to get your kids to do stuff. Kevin had bunny ears on for her 6 month pictures! No bunny ears necessary for this one. We miss everone and are praying for a peaceful recovery for Gran. We love you.

Kate's first Halloween was so much fun. We decided to torture her with the bee costume. I think Hud and Reb were just excited that we weren't focusing on them. Usually Reb gets most of the torture when it comes to Halloween. He did have his Cowboy hat on but got lost somewhere between the door and outside. Enjoy the pictures. We miss everyone so much.

It's gotten cold here. Poor Kate. I've got her so bundled up she can't even reach her toys. Oh well. Check out her new cat hat that Nana got her. Stylin. She's gonna hate me when she's gets old enough to see these. Isn't that what Mom's are for?

Cabell, this video is for you. You wanted to see this. This is Kate's newest phase. She is like superglue to me. I have to peel her off. She holds on for dear life if I try to put her down. Even though it melts me and couldn't love it more, I feel bad that she started this right when Nana got here. And of course, I think it hurts her Dad's feelings a little bit. I'm sure next month it will be cling to Dad time.

Ok, I'm very new at this so please bear with me as I learn with all of you. I hope this is a way bridge the distance a little bit. Kate grows so quick I don't want yall to miss a thing. So once I figure out the video thing, I'll get that up and running to.
Today Kate is as cute as ever crawling around. She loves her daddy and the dogs are her favorite toys. They have much less hair these days! She is pulling up on furniture and climbed up a stair today! Oh boy. We have a new job for Kate-window washer! Since it's cool out she's discovered that licking the windows on the front door feels good on her gums-(no teeth still!). So now we have dog nose prints plus Kate's slober. Yes both are there at the same time. Oh well, I figure there are less sanitary things to come. I miss everyone. Hope everyone is doing well.
